Accredited zoos are exceptional platforms for raising awareness about biodiversity conservation: it is estimated that nearly 700 million people visit a zoo or aquarium each year. That's 700 million opportunities to inspire action for species preservation.
Every day, our animal experts are waiting for you along the trails: come meet them!
Curious to learn more about behind-the-scenes work? Zookeepers meet with the public to share the secrets of their profession and the fascinating stories of the animals they care for. They know each animal intimately: their personalities, habits, preferences, and more.
Through enrichment activities, biomedical training, or scheduled presentations, they passionately highlight the daily efforts made to ensure the well-being of the animals under our care. Come discover just how deeply committed they are!
What does it eat? How long does it live? Is it dangerous?
Our naturalist interpreters answer the countless questions from visitors and introduce them to species that are often little-known or misunderstood. By skillfully presenting each animal’s unique adaptations and abilities, they excel at sparking curiosity and capturing the audience’s interest.
Whether along a trail, on an elevated platform, with a microphone in hand, at a touch table, or during a guided tour, these passionate animal experts are always eager to share insights about the ecological importance of every species. Getting to know animals and the challenges they face is the first step toward wanting to protect them!
Nearly 700 interpretive signs are installed across the various continents of the zoo, helping visitors identify the species on display, access basic facts about the animals, and learn more about their biology or conservation challenges in the wild.
Where the species lives, its weight, lifespan, and diet: these are just some of the details you can catch at a glance while strolling along our paths. Want to dive deeper?
